Buckingham Palace confirms HM The King as our Patron

We are delighted to announce that HM King Charles III will take on the Patronage of the Royal Choral Society following the death of our former patron HM the late Queen Elizabeth II. This follows a review of patronages undertaken by Buckingham Palace, and an announcement to mark the first anniversary of Their Majesties’ coronation.

Peter Dart, Chairman of the Royal Choral Society said: ‘We are honoured that His Majesty has confirmed his Patronage of the Royal Choral Society, and delighted to be able to announce this on our 152nd birthday, 8 May 2024. His Majesty’s love of music, and his support for music as a bedrock of our cultural life, is well known, and we look forward to welcoming him to one of our concerts. We are grateful for the continuing support of our monarch, an unbroken thread in our history ever since HM Queen Victoria gave us permission to call ourselves the Royal Choral Society in 1888.’
