John is a Risk Management professional, senior leader and a qualified Actuary. He started his career in an Actuarial Consultancy in 2006 and has since worked in senior positions across the Lloyd’s and London insurance industry. He provides advice and challenge to executive management and boards to bring risk-based structure and clarity to business decisions, including consideration of new opportunities, clients and strategic developments.

He has worked on cultural matters, including developing a behavioural charter, and enjoys supporting his teams to achieve their aspirations. Outside his day job, John is a sponsor of his company’s LGBTQ+ Diversity Equity and Inclusion Group and is a mentor to members of the London Insurance market.

John has a degree in both Chemistry and Mathematics, which led him to train as an Actuary. He has enjoyed music since a young age, playing in orchestras and concert bands at school and university. He has sung with several large-scale choral groups over the last 25 years and has been a member of the Royal Choral Society since 2022. He also enjoys playing piano in his spare time.
