Charly Young MBE - Trustee

Charly Young MBE is an entrepreneur, mentor, and consultant. She works with impactful organisations as an advisor and consultant in the gender and diversity, youth, and mentoring spaces. She works with businesses and for-purpose (charitable or social impact driven) organisations, as well as those working with and for young people.

She is Co-founder of two charities: The Early Years Movement and The Girls’ Network. Both focused on tackling gender inequalities, The Early Years Movement works to increase diversity in nurseries and to minimise the gender biases that children are exposed to. The Girls’ Network provides 14-19 year old girls from the least-advantaged communities across England with a female mentor and a network of professional female role models.

In recognition of her work with The Girls’ Network, Charly received an MBE in the Queen’s Birthday Honours 2021 for services female empowerment and young girls.

Charly has been singing with the Royal Choral Society since 2013 and also sits on the Equity, Diversity and Inclusion working group. She comes from a musical family and grew up making music in fields and barns on top of a hill in Buckinghamshire! She plays the piano and is currently teaching herself to play the cello.
