Alison is passionate about singing and has a Masters degree in Choral Studies. She has sung first soprano in the Royal Choral Society since 2006. She has been the RCS Company Secretary for 10 years and recently took over the role of General Manager from Richard Reeves. A hard act to follow.

Prior to joining the choir she was a lay clerk at Croydon Minster for several years. She is a founder member and trustee of the North Downs Community Orchestra in which she plays the oboe (badly). Her greatest musical achievement was passing Grade 8 piano, at the age of 52.

Alison studied chemical engineering at university and spent the first part of her career in the oil industry. Over the last 30 years she has worked with a small consulting business developing all its back-office functions. She is a non-religious funeral celebrant and finds the work rewarding and more cheerful than you might think.

She has two musical sons, two grandsons and a granddaughter. She enjoys baking, sewing, running (especially parkrun), ballet and theatre trips, travelling and, best of all, spending time with the family.
